Change Healthcare Disruption

As you may have heard, Change Healthcare, a clearinghouse used by health care providers and payers to process claims submissions and payment processes, and a provider of a variety of services to CarePartners of Connecticut, reported on February 21 that they experienced a cybersecurity incident that has caused a disruption to their systems.  In response, Change Healthcare took the impacted systems offline. 

This incident impacted Change Healthcare systems and there is no current threat to CarePartners of Connecticut systems.

Out of an abundance of caution, we suspended services, system access, and data transmissions between CarePartners of Connecticut and Change Healthcare, and will bring these connections back online only after we have determined that it is safe to do so.

This incident mainly affects providers’ ability to submit claims and we do not anticipate any significant impact to CarePartners of Connecticut members.

Member Services can also assist you to confirm your eligibility for coverage or obtain a duplicate insurance ID card, if needed.

We are continuing to conduct all business operations, including processing claims, referrals, notifications, and authorization requests and have developed workarounds and processes to support providers who are unable to submit claims through Change Healthcare as a result of the disruption to its systems.
