Broker Newsletter - June 2025
Your June Update
We want to make it easier for you to provide CarePartners of Connecticut as a solution to your clients. To help support your hard work, here is what we thought you should know this month:
CarePartners of Connecticut members to receive health communications
Starting in June, and continuing through July, CarePartners of Connecticut members will receive multiple communications including email, text, and live phone calls promoting general health such as physical activity and using our Wellness Allowance benefit. Messages may invite members to opt in to receive a call from us to support care management or help with plan navigation needs. If your clients ask about the communications, let them know they are intended to be helpful reminders of how CarePartners of Connecticut provides benefits and services that make it easier to lead a healthy lifestyle.
New issue of Well!
The summer issue of Well! magazine was recently sent to CarePartners of Connecticut members and includes details on the benefits of puzzles, how a primary care provider can help members save, and much more.
4 steps to get ready for AEP
As the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) for 2026 quickly approaches (October 15th - December 7th), it's crucial to start your preparations now to ensure a successful and compliant enrollment season. We're committed to supporting you every step of the way, providing the resources and information you need to serve your clients effectively.
- Complete AHIP Certification: This is a mandatory annual requirement for selling Medicare Advantage plans. AHIP certification opens on June 23, 2025. Log in using the link below to complete the training and exam. Once complete, you can transmit your scores to Point32Health by selecting “CarePartners of Connecticut” regardless of the state (CT or MA) you do business in - Log in here!
- If you have already taken AHIP training (directly through AHIP’s site or by using another carrier’s AHIP link), log in to AHIP using our link with your existing login credentials and you will see the option to transmit your scores. FYI - This should not prompt you to complete AHIP training again.
- If you do not transmit your scores using any of the methods above, once complete, email a copy of the AHIP certificate to Medicare Broker Support at: medicarebrokersupport@point32health.org.
Complete Product-Specific Certifications: Complete all necessary product-specific certifications for each state (CT & MA) you plan to represent in 2026. This ensures you're knowledgeable about the plans and compliant with Point32Health guidelines. Certifications will be available in August, so watch your email for notifications of training dates and times!
Certification will be conducted virtually, in person, or online (Brainshark) for each line of business:
- Tufts Health Plan Medicare Advantage in Massachusetts
- HMO/PPO
- Duals (SCO and One Care)
- CarePartners of Connecticut in Connecticut
- Each state will have separate training since plans vary by market.
- Select a training to attend, verify the date, time and method then register.
- Training in person or virtually provides the opportunity to meet with a Medicare Broker Relationship Manager. You can ask questions or listen to others who have questions.
- Complete the training and test with a successful score of 85%.
- Verify Your License to Be Ready to Sell: Once we receive your AHIP and product certification(s), and we verify your license is up to date, in MA/CT, your Ready to Sell (RTS) status will be updated in the Broker portal and a notification email will be sent to the email on file.
- Stay Up to Date with Compliance:
- CMS Regulations: Re-familiarize yourself with all Medicare marketing guidelines and CMS regulations to avoid any compliance issues. This includes rules around lead generation, Scope of Appointment (SOA) documentation, and pre-AEP activities.
- Documentation: Ensure you have proper documentation for all client interactions and enrollment forms.
We'll be sharing additional resources and training opportunities in the coming weeks to help you prepare. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or for support.
Let's make AEP 2026 your most successful one yet!
Details about MyWire, our member text messaging program
We communicate with our members in multiple ways, including through a text message program called MyWire.
MyWire runs on the Relay platform, which allows us to securely send messages to our members. These messages communicate important plan information, discount reminders, healthy living tips, and more.
Sometimes members have questions about these messages, so we want to make sure you’re aware of the program in case your clients reach out to you.
Members first receive a generic SMS text message. By clicking on the link in text message, they are taken to Relay, where they must log in to their account to view the full message. Messages can only be viewed in a member’s Relay account—they are not available in the CarePartners of Connecticut member portal.
If your clients have questions about MyWire, you can direct them to this webpage for information, or they can call Member Services at 1-888-341-1507 (HMO) or 1-866-632-0060 (PPO) (TTY: 711).
